Here’s my haiku for today, on the topic of Rain:
showers, drizzle, cats and dogs.
really, just plain rain.
At the end of each month I’ll gather up the haikus in the “Haiku Comments” that meet the criteria and pick one at random in a drawing, and send the winner of the drawing one of my e-books: your choice of Haiku for the Seasons I, or Haiku for the Seasons II.

The rain comes in sheets,
Putting diamonds on branches,
and mirrors on mud.
damn, no chocolate
and it looks like we’re snowed in
why didnt it rain
A deluge transforms
banks of alabaster snow
into oozing sludge
rain last night swirling
shimmering sings a lullaby
secret silent sleep
rain tonight swirling
shimmering a lullaby
secret silent sleep
(I realized after posting that I’d included an extra syllable in line 2–because I say “shimm’ring”–so if you’ll permit, I’m posting this revision.)
Each lone droplet holds,
a blessing sent from heaven.
Let it pour on me.
The rain calls my name,
Wooing me to come outside,
To dance in the mist.
