You want to forget, but this is not possible. You will remember Lady Death, always, and she will remember you. Lady Death kisses you and licks the sins that crust around your mouth with her slender, black, forked tongue. When she smiles you will see your sins waiting for you, caught between her teeth.
Lady Death promises you nothing. Her eyes are mirrors, her mouth is a tunnel lined with mirrors. You look into her face and see yourself splintered, running in infinite directions. No one else is with you, it is just you and Lady Death, and all the rules have changed.
Stop running. Shatter the mirrors with your fists, fall through the jagged holes of eternity even though you know no one will catch you. Not even Lady Death.
